He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thornton and Margueritte Thornton (Schmill); his brother Tom; and his grandson Aaron Lane Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Barb Hansen (Perrel); his sons, Mike Thornton (Lesa) of Grand Island, Joe Thornton, Erik Thornton (Ruth Ann) and Ken Thornton of Evanston; and his stepchildren, Chris Drummond (Fred) of Lithia, FL and Jeff Hansen (Sue) of Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.
