She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay Rowell and Gladys Rowell (Severs); her husband Bernie Simmerman; her grandchildren, Angel, Joshua and Joyce; and her siblings, Ruth Adams, Edith Riepl, Dorothy Lockwood and Ronald Rowell.
She is survived by: her daughter Judy Shonka (Duane); her grandson Michael Shonka (Christy); her great grandchildren, Zoe, Morgan, Hagen, Layla, Cole, Bryant and Adison; her granddaughter Sonja Shonka; her great grandchildren, Kylie and Mason; her grandson Dustin Shonka (Megan); her great grandchildren, Trenton, Braxton and Cohen; and her siblings, Norman Rowell, Neva Kellet and Wilda Thompson. She is also survived by 5 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Hill Church of the Nazarene (6909 Cornhusker Rd, Papillion, NE 68133). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
