It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy W. Schroder of Palmyra, Nebraska, who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joy W. Schroder to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schroder and Dorothy Schroder (Wyatt); his wife Verle M. Nutzman; and his brothers, Edward and Myron Schroder.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ruth Kahler (Jim), Donna Ekstrum (Bruce) and Lana Jean Lionberger; his grandchildren, Carissa Lindsey, Dana Ekstrum, Joshua Ekstrum, Carlie Jo Antes (Tim), Connor Marcoe (Aleah), Lauren Lionberger and Hannah Lionberger; his great grandchildren, Reily J. Ekstrum, Archie D. Antes, Jovee J. Antes, Wyles T. Antes and Arlo May Marcoe; his sister Verda Umland; and his sisters-in-law, Margem Naffziger, Gaylene Nutzman and Karen Price. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (955 C St, Palmyra, NE 68418).

Memorials are suggested to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or American Legion Post #195.
