He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman J. Royal and Viola M. Royal (Kettelhut); his siblings, Glen and Marjorie; and his brother-in-law Orlin Moss.
He is survived by: his wife Claretta Royal; his daughters, Susan Royal (Ron), Diane Humm (Jessie) and Joann Huenink (Sean); his grandchildren, Tanya Steward, Erin (Spencer), Brian Bruggeman, Hannah Huenink and Henry Huenink (Katelyn); his great grandchildren, Nell, Sawyer, Zaleah and Klaire; and his sister-in-law Betty Royal. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Palmyra Rural Fire.
