He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Dovel and Vera Dovel (Malone); his children, Shari Kaye Dovel and Alan Martin Dovel; and his sister Delores Ell.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Dovel; his children, Diane Kraus (Steve), Todd Dovel and Aaron Dovel (Sharon); his grandchildren, Shane Kraus (Ashley), Grace Kraus, Zoe Kraus, Martina Dovel, Leah Dovel, Delton Klopp, Michelle Nicholson (Luke), Melissa Busboom (Justin) and Michael Hansen (Meranda); and his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Owen Nicholson, Mayson, Morgan, Maddox Hansen and Gage Busboom. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, Douglas Fire & Rescue or Second Baptist Church.
