It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gretchen L. Elkins of Palmer, Nebraska, who passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred "Pete" Schlueter and Betty Schlueter; her former husband Jim Petersen; and her stepsons, Brad Elkins and Brian Elkins.
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Jennifer; her husband Darrell Elkins of Palmer; her sons, Jim (Debra Petersen), Tim (Sabra Petersen) and Tom (Naomi Petersen); her stepson-in-law Schwan Naylor of Eustis, NE; her grandchildren, Tasha, Kenzie, Megan, Jordan, Josh, Ella, Ava and Jacob; her great grandchildren, Taylor, Joey, Allie, Maddie, Zaidyn, Rylee, Sawyer and Ivy; her stepgrandchildren, Cody, Ezra and Elizabeth; and her siblings, Pamela Bandt of York and Bill Schlueter of Grand Island.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home (411 O St, St Paul, NE 68873). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
