He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence "Larry" Layton and Margaret Layton (Loch); and his son James Layton. He is survived by: his wife Janice Layton; his son Jeff Layton (Chris) of Oxford; and his siblings, Thomas Layton (Linda) of Durham, Mike Layton (Marilyn) of Holdrege, Nebraska and Barbara Anderson of Norwalk, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
