He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Johansen and Alice Johansen (Kershaw); his wife Nadine Marie Jaax; his siblings, Eugene'Jinx'Johansen, Bob Johansen (Margie), Gerald Johansen, Dennis Johansen and Patricia Richards (David); and his brothers-in-law, Jim Sterup and Gene Cole.

He is survived by: his sons, Kelley Johansen (Jo) of Columbus and Andy Johansen (Jane) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Kacie Athey (Mark), Katie Willcockson (Scott), Ashley Peters (Chris) and Morgan Johansen; his great grandchildren, Padric and Evelyn Athey; his sisters, Dorothy Cole of Columbus and Joanie Sterup of Stromsburg; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Johansen of Osceola, Geraldine Braithwait of Schuyler and JoAnn Donelson (Kenny) of Stromsburg. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
