It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Butts of O'Neill, Nebraska, born in Hartington, Nebraska, who passed away on August 27, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Sr. Gartner and Mary Gartner (Maly); her daughter-in-law Judy Butts; and her brothers, Robert Gartner (Roxanne) of Chambers, Donald Gartner (Beverly) and L. J. Gartner.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Butts of O'Neill; her children, Rick Butts (Diana) of O'Neill, Gary Butts of O'Neill, Cheryl Gilg (Kevin) of Cantonment and Dave Butts (Dawn) of O'Neill; her grandchildren, Michael Grinnell, Gina Ainsworth (Steven), David Grinnell (Jennifer), Jason Butts (Jamie), Misty Butts, Chris Butts (Sara), Jayte Butts, Melissa Peterson (Chuck), Anna Gilg, Justina Weinrich (Aaron) and James Butts; and her sisters, Betty Watson (Stan) of O'Neill and Anne Porter (Charlie) of Fremont. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
