Rose M. Matya Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rose M. Matya (Omaha, Nebraska), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 12, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rose M. Matya to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edmund "Jake"; her daughter Dorothy Hakenholz; her parents, John Parys and Sophie Parys; and her siblings, Steve, Hank, Joe, Walt, Larry Parys, Agnes Novotny, Bernice Parys and Dorothy Ann Parys.
She is survived by: her son John Matya (Lisa) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Thomas, Gregory, Mary, Philip, Lily Matya, Diana Hakenholz and Chrissy Desimone (Pete); her great grandchild Travis Desimone; and her son-in-law Jerry Hakenholz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home Chapel (5108 F St, Omaha, NE 68117). A vigil service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (5223 Q St, Omaha, NE 68117).
