He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Gergen and Leita Gergen (Goesch); his brothers, Wayne and Richard Gergen; and his brother-in-law Laurence Bauer.
He is survived by: his sister Ethel Bauer of Geneva; his sister-in-law Janet Gergen of Lincoln; and his nieces and nephews, Becky Bauer of Omaha, Vickey Bauer of Hastings, Audrey Bauer of Hastings, Denise Schropfer of Geneva, Roxanne Plummer of Lincoln, Todd Bauer of Geneva and Stanley Bauer of Omaha. He is also survived by one great niece, two great nephews, and two great-great nieces.
