He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Giles (Chizek); his daughter Dorene Giles; his granddaughter Dorothy Giles; his son-in-law John Babic Sr.; and his siblings, Lorraine Kovac (Jerome), Katie Mills (Don) and Rich Giles.

He is survived by: his children, David (Debbie), Daryl Giles (Kim), Diane Kmiecik (Ron), Danette Babic and Danise Brownlee (Ted); his grandchildren, Martin Giles, Alex Lindgren (Jacob), Rachel, Matthew, Thomas Giles, Ron Kmiecik (Katie), Lisa Martinez (Hector), Sara Beller (Keylan), John Jr., Joe (Lauren) and James Babic; his great grandchildren, Summer, Ezekiel Lindgren, Emma, Emery Kmiecik, Maggie, Gordie Martinez and Charlotte Jo Babic; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Giles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home Chapel (5108 F St, Omaha, NE 68117). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church (5912 S 36th St, Omaha, NE 68107).
