He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Franzen and Rosalie Franzen; his siblings, Donald Franzen and Linda Franzen; and his grandson Evan Franzen.

He is survived by: his sons, Marc Franzen (Meg), Jeremy Franzen (Trissy), Adam Franzen and Dr. John Franzen (Marci). He is also survived by two grandsons and eight granddaughters.
