He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Ronald McCain, Karah (Tracie), Rhea LaShawn, James Harper, Kibwanna Cooper, Christopher, Howard Smith, Nichelle (Jared), Stephanie, Dona, Kayla, Mahalia Ferdinand, Brandy Wagner and Sally Porter-Green (Sam); his nephew Harold Harper, Jr.; his niece Lori Harper; his cousins, Diane Harper and Prentice Huntley; his sister-in-law Bridget Page; and his close friend Eddie Cabbell. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
