It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E. Skarda (Omaha, Nebraska), who passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward F. Skarda and Regina A. Skarda (Graham); the mother of his children Cynthia Skarda; his daughters, Jackie Mitchell (Trent) and Rachel Skarda; his grandchildren, Carter Washington, Edith Mitchell and Gwen Mitchell; and his sister Mary Wilson. He was also cherished by other loving family members and friends.

“It's hard to imagine a world without Skad's big heart, endless humor and generous friendship in it. I can't begin to count all the hunting trips we did over the years chasing pheasants all over eastern Nebraska, deer in the Pine Ridge, turkey along the Niobrara River, Canada Gese on the North Platte and even Black Bear up in Canada. As good as the memories were it's the side antics that really lit the trips up...the famous 3 second Brahma Bull ride in Tekamah and so many more. Semper Fi, friend”
