He was predeceased by: his wife Andrea Hoeneman; and his son Terry Hoeneman. He is survived by: his daughter Jeanne Chapman; his son-in-law Mark Chapman; his sister Florence Kuss (Jerry); and his granddaughters, Nicole Hoeneman, Amanda Hoeneman and Christina Chapman.

Memorials may be given to Cure Alzheimer's Fund. The family of Elmer wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home for caring for Elmer in the Alzheimer's Unit for the last 5 years.
