Alta Lee (Veatch, VanCleave) Morris entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2024, alongside her husband, Dwight, and children Ed and Lori, at the age of 88. She was born November 21, 1935, to Melvin Ellsworth and Lenora Ada (Blakeman) Veatch in Louisville, Kentucky, the fourth of 5 children.

On January 26th, 1980 she married Dwight Morris at a Baptist Church in Papillion, NE where they settled into their life together in Ralston. Alta worked hard for many years at Livestock Press and later retired from Western Electric/AT&T after working there for 23 years. Although Alta was a very busy woman, she had many passions in Life. She was an active member of the Buffalo Club through Western Electric. She also was an avid bowler, traveling about the country for many tournaments, and was even a member of the 600 Club. She found much enjoyment being apart of the Red Hatters Club, loved celebrating the Kentucky Derby, wearing her many multicolored hats and could dance any type of dance to any kind of song. But Alta’s greatest passion in Life revolved undoubtedly around her children and their families. Family was her Life and nothing was more important. She made many sacrifices over the years to care for her loved ones. As big as her family is, she had a unique ability to make everyone she talked with feel included and special. The Love that embodied her was fueled from the Love she had for her family members.

Alta was preceded in death by her grandson, Richard Cole, her step-son, Scott Morris, her parents and three half-brothers, Chester Veatch, Bill Veatch and Curtis Veatch. She is survived by her sister, Ethel (Larry) Frost; children, Marie Hays of Boulder, CO; Deborah (Jeff) Kowskie, Harold (Kelli) VanCleave, Cynthia (John) Lund, Michael (Linda) VanCleave, of Phoexiz, AZ; Lorraine (Mitch) Rickett of Brady, NE; Cheryl (Rolin) Schuetz of Omaha; and step-daughter Kimberly Conkling of OK; grandchildren, Bryan (Robyn) Kowskie, Laura (Tom) Kowskie; Abbie (Sean) Neighbors, Alex (Christina) VanCleave, Max (Kassandra) VanCleave, Mikenzie VanCleave, Mikayla VanCleave; Megan (Mike) Anderson, Melissa (Matt) Rowe, Jon Lund, Tara (David) Bolten, Amanda (Jesse) Blancher; Alicia Fields; Daniel Schuetz, Emily (Roobyn) Gutierrez’mejia, Andrew Schuetz; Nicholas Morris, Benjamin Morris, Samantha (Jason) Morris ; and many, many great and great-great grandchildren.
