He was loved and cherished by many people including: his adoptive parents, John Canning and Elsie Canning (Barnes); his wife Patricia A. Zwiener of Ogallala; his children, Mark of Elm Creek, Jeremy (Sabrina) of Ogallala, Alex (Joni) of Arthur, Kayla Scott (Brandon) of Ogallala, Brian (Tara) of Ogallala, Alexis of Lincoln, Jayden, Kylar, Ethyn and Keygen of Grand Island; his parents, John Canning and Elsie Canning; his stepmother Fern Hatcher; his half-brother Gale Graff; his sister Patricia (Byron Tullis) of Lincoln; and his great grandchild Hadley Hegberg of Lincoln. He was also cherished by five sons, and ten grandchildren.
Memorial has been established in his memory.
