He is survived by: his wife Marcia Weldon of Ogallala; his son Kent Richard Docekal (Marci); his grandchildren, Breya of Mitchell and Brynn of Mitchell; his child Monte Docekal; his sisters, Merry Carol Cox (Gerry) of Mitchell, SD and Lori Docekal of Pender, NE; his parents-in-law, Bruce Weldon (Lois) of Lawrence, KS, Murray Weldon (Lucie) of Lake Lotawana, MO, Curt Weldon (Corrine) of Hiawatha, KS, Jim Weldon (Jose) of Lawrence, NE, Jody Weldon of Tucson, AZ, Nancy Peta of Nashville, TN, Dudley Weldon of Phoenix, AZ and Dixie Weldon of Sutton, NE; and also Scout. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Richard's memory with the intent to support the Mid Plains Community College - Ogallala Extended Campus.
