He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Ballard and Hulda Ballard (Faller); his wife Helen; his siblings, Melvin, Howard Ballard, Loraine and Irene; and his great great grandchild Hadley.
He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Powers (Mike Leikam) of Ogallala, Eileen Schutte (Mike) of Ogallala and Christine Ballard of Ogallala; his siblings, Gladys Johnson of Hay Springs, Elouise Schwarting of Gordon and Richard Ballard of Gordon; and his grandchildren, Steven Ballard (Lisa) of Ogallala, Tonya Powers of Omaha, Amanda Canning (Craig) of Ogallala, Ashley Osterbuhr (Justin) of Minden, Justin Schutte of Omaha and Cassandra Fresquez (Michael) of Ogallala. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
