He was predeceased by: his sister Pearl Merriweather; his siblings-in-law, Tomy Merriweather and Lou Crews; and his daughter-in-law Melodee Crews (Thompson). He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou of Lake McConaughy; his children, Julie Hothan (Kim) of Ogallala and Craig Crews (Wendy) of Summerset, S. D.; and his brother O'Neal Crews of Rolla. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the Brule Fire Department.
