He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Peterson and Filles Peterson (Dority); and his brother Rex Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Cole of Ogallala; his children, Jeffrey of Ogallala and Beth Keller (Rod) of Thermopolis, WY; and his grandsons, Cole and Clayton Keller.

Memorials are suggested to the Western Sky Community Care Center of Grant or Faith Global Methodist Church in Max's memory.
