She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Les Cotant and Opal Cotant (Phillips); her sister Eileen; her husband Ralph Ballard of Ogallala; her daughters, Colleen Powers (Mike Leikam) of Ogallala, Eileen Schutte (Mike) of Ogallala and Christine Ballard of Ogallala; her brother Leslie Cotant (Deb) of Gordon, NE; her grandchildren, Steven Ballard (Lisa) of Ogallala, Tonya Powers of Omaha, Amanda Canning (Craig) of Ogallala, Ashley Osterbuhr (Justin) of Minden, Justin Schutte of Omaha and Cassandra Fresquez (Michael) of Ogallala; and her siblings, Larry Joe Cotant, Lance Cotant and Arlene Dahlgrin. She was also cherished by 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in her memory for a later designation.
