She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddie Larsen and Nell Larsen (Newbanks); her husband Otto Schmidt; her siblings, DeLoris Dancer and Bruce Larsen; and her grandson Zachary Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Schmidt (Judy) of Longmont, CO, Gordon Schmidt (Kay) of Burlington, CO, Jerrilyn Schmidt of Ogallala and Cheryl Kendrick (Toby) of Stromsburg; her grandchildren, Brad, Brent, Melanie, Mindy, Andy, Jeremiah, Joshua and Jacob; her siblings, Martin Larsen of Arthur, Joan Hines of Boulder City, NV, Mary Muller of Arthur, Emma Robertson of Arthur and Spencer Larsen of Arthur; and her former husband Eugene Convery. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Gwen's memory to the Arthur Volunteer Fire Dept and EMT.
