With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Eugene Parkinson of Ogallala, Nebraska, born in Aberdeen, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Louis Parkinson and Betty Jane Bullock; his father-in-law Gene Kroll; his son-in-law Josh Vanderpluym; and his brother-in-law Bill Schurman.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his mother-in-law Teresa Kroll; his children, John "JJ" Parkinson, Laura Vanderpluym, Meghan Tickle (Jason) and Kim Parkinson; his grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Austin Tickle, Carly, Taylor Vanderpluym, Samantha, Elizabeth and Alexandra Tickle; and his siblings, Joe Parkinson, Mary Schurman, Carol Parkinson (Tom Brown) and Patty Franklin (Tom). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory to the American Heart Association.
