He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sheets and Ruby Sheets; his wife Shirley Sheets; and his children, Donald Sheets, Kathy Lynn Sheets and Nancy Sheets.

He is survived by: his sons, Chris Sheets of Lewellen, Ken Sheets of Lewellen and Russ Meyers of Arriba, Colorado; and his granddaughter Jena Sheets of LeSueur, Minnesota. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
