He is survived by: his brother Davids'; his wife Betty Mord of Ogallala; his children, Matthew Nelson of Ogallala, Sara Kirkpatrick (Jason) of Grant and Adam Nelson (Megan) of Amherst, WI; his grandchildren, Geoffrey, Kathryn, David, Alex Andrew (Kortnie), Johnathan, Meredy, Aiden, Pearl, Levi, Timothy, Isaac and Jasper; his brothers, Robert Nelson (Joan) and Don Nelson; his sister-in-law Nettie Fae; and his pet Kiya. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
