He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Barnes and Irene Barnes; and his brothers, John Barnes (Mary), Frank Barnes (Barb) and Fred Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Barnes; his children, Deborah Wieser (Danny) of Big Springs, Denise Hoffman (Terry) of Ogallala, Randy Barnes (Teresa) of Big Springs, Sharon Hatch (Grant) of Lewellen and Michael Barnes (Kari) of Ogallala; his grandchildren, Justin Barnes (Pamela), Shaun Bayne, Brett Hoffman, Jordan Hoffman, Kayleen Cooper (Reginald), Aaron Barnes, JoAnna Swisher, Jennifer Ault (Anthony), Crystal Hall, James Hall Jr., Garrett Hatch, Jesse Barnes (Milisa), Austin Barnes and Karissa Barnes; and his sister-in-law Charolette Barnes of North Platte. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in David's memory for later designation.
