He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McDowell, Jr. and Aletha McDowell (Dreiling); and his sisters, Jackie and Judy. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl McDowell of Ogallala; his children, David Carlson (Tina) of Brule, NE, Kevin Carlson of Ogallala, Lanette McDowell of Eagle Point, OR, Charles Peter McDowell, IV of Brighton, CO and Nikki Sloan (Nick) of Brighton, CO; and his sister Joyce Campbell of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Moose Heart Charities in his memory.
