He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Bassett and Marie Bassett (Lewis); and his siblings, Dorothy, Donna, Dean and Donald.
He is survived by: his wife Jacque Mecke of Ogallala; his children, Matt Bassett (Mary Jo) of Omaha, Jane Diaz (Ray) of Ogallala, Marty Bassett (Jackie) of Mesa, AZ, John Bassett (Janice) of Gastonia, NC and Teresa Bradney (Brian) of North Platte; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Bassett and Shirley Bassett. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; 4 step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in memory of Buck.
