He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Smith and Emma Smith (Lambrecht); his sisters, Elsie Amick, Mary McKenzie and Gladys Eckley; and his grandson Matthew Cole Christensen.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith (Adsit) of Adams, Nebraska.; his children, Sheri Christensen (Mark) of Milford, Sandy Renken of Adams, Sonja Peetz (Stephen) of Wahoo and Fausto Almeida of Ecuador; his grandchildren, Stephen Christensen, Caitlynn Ensley, Kendall Shinn, Brannon Renken, Shannon Arena, Brendan Arena and Bryanna Landkamer; and his sister Hazel Thomas of Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at Odell State Bank for a scholarship fund to Diller-Odell Public Schools.
