He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Carstensen and Marie Carstensen; his wife Karen Rogler of Paul's Lutheran Church; his sister Marilyn Ihnken; his siblings-in-law, Dallas Ihnken and Nadine Smith; and his niece Wanda Browder.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marcene Carstensen (Geoffrey Christensen) of North Newton, KS and Annette Andersen (Jeff) of Anita, IA; his nephew Victor Smith (Jan) of Council Bluffs, IA; and his niece Leann Baumgarten (Tony) of Des Moines, IA..
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church (201 N Davis Ave, Oakland, NE 68045).
