He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Herfel and Lois Herfel (Olson); and his siblings, Howard "Gene" and Loraine. He is survived by: his wife Naomi Jones; his former wife Ann Wagner; his children, Dustin Herfel (Melissa) of Norfolk, Alexandra Herfel and Megan Novotny (Shane) of Meadow Grove; his grandchildren, Ashton and Taylar Novotny; and his siblings, Francis "Ferd" Herfel of Utah, Ron Herfel (Diane) of Idaho and Carol Swallow (Clinton) of Plainview.
