He was predeceased by: his parents, Rasty Stearns and Mary Stearns (Hayworth); his wife Valerie Sanders; and his siblings, Darrell, Maxine, Don, Darlene, Arlene and Tom.
He is survived by: his sons, Scott Stearns (Renae) of Tuscon, AZ, Jim Stearns (Jeannie) of Logansport, IN and Travis Stearns (Laura) of North Platte; his grandchildren, Teashina Fowers (Cody) of Blackfoot, ID, Michael McBride of North Platte, Shawn McBride of North Platte, Braylon McBride of North Platte and Gavin Stearns of Logansport, IN; and his great grandchildren, Stetson, Preslee and Olivia. He is also survived by several other family members and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
