It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Hernandez of North Platte, Nebraska, born in Sutherland, Nebraska, who passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrio "Pete" and Modesta; his siblings, Arthur, Joseph, Heneritta Hernandez and Erlinda Mata; and his niece Rachel Hernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Luna of Patrick's Catholic Church; his pet Starr; his brothers, Ricardo (Donna) and Fermin of North Platte; and his siblings-in-law, Erlinda Scovill (Jerry), Stephen Luna (Angela), Alfred Luna (Susan) and Phillip Luna (Marilyn). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore Tuesday (302 S Sycamore St, North Platte, NE 69101). A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Odean Colonial Chapel (302 S Sycamore St, North Platte, NE 69101). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (415 N Chestnut St, North Platte, NE 69101).
