With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lewis Samuel Thayer of North Platte, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 18, 2025 at the age of 76. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Lewis find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Thayer and Zala Stinman (Roberts); and his sister Linda Thayer. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Gress of North Platte, Nebraska; his son Shad Thayer (Sara Beth); his grandchildren, Jade Thayer and Vivian Thayer; and his sister Peg Janas (Rob). He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Adams & Swanson Funeral Home (421 W 4th St, North Platte, NE 69101). A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery (12004 South Spur 56a, Maxwell, NE 69151).
