Eleanor J. Dowhower Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor J. Dowhower of North Platte, Nebraska, who passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl "Chuck" Flint and Lucy Flint (Giddings); her husband Franklin "Al" Dowhower; her children, Glenna Dowhower, Ted Dowhower and Sonny Dowhower; her siblings, Earl "Sonny" Flint (Donna), Frank Flint, Louise Krzycki (Kris), Judy Bricker and Lynn Pettit; her parents-in-law, Elmer and Alice Dowhower; her sons-in-law, Ron Empfield and Jeff Maxwell; and her in-laws, Ray Dowhower (Betty), Lloyd Dowhower (Erma), Dennis Dowhower (Barb), Violet Douglas, Don Dowhower, Dolly Dowhower and John Ziarko.
She is survived by: her children, Lucy Maxwell of Lemoyne, Tom Dowhower (Debra) of North Platte, Susie Empfield of North Platte and Jeff Dowhower of North Platte; her sister Earlene Parish of Ogallala; and her siblings-in-law, Virgil Dowhower of Eugene, OR, Flo Ziarko of New York, Cecelia Dowhower of Oklahoma and Mary Flint of Ohio. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams & Swanson Funeral Home (421 W 4th St, North Platte, NE 69101). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery (12004 South Spur 56a, Maxwell, NE 69151).
Memorials may be made in Eleanor's memory to the family for later designation.
