He was predeceased by: his father Ray Nelson; his foster parents, Jannie Matzen and Chuck Matzen; his birth mother Rosemary Kingsley Stackhouse; and his grandparents, Owen, June Nelson, Elgie and Nadine Bell.
He is survived by: his spouse Mandi Walker; his daughter Amber Nelson (Mack Trotta) of Omaha; his mother Gwen Krzykowski of North Platte; and his siblings, Ken Nelson, John Nelson (Amy) of North Platte, Cheri Laughter (Sam) of Tulsa, OK, Julie McCleary of North Platte and Elizabeth Copeland (Tory) of Sutherland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore (302 S Sycamore St, North Platte, NE 69101).
