It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Norman Schmeckpeper of Norfolk, Nebraska, born in Fremont, Nebraska, who passed away on March 7, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Schmeckpeper and Elaine Schmeckpeper (Freudenburg); his father-in-law Louie Lopez; and his grandson Alex. He is survived by: his wife Jean Lopez; his children, Jacob of Norfolk, Matt Schmeckpeper (Betty) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Laura Tilson (Shane) of Elwood; his grandchildren, Harley, Lucas, Makayla, Emily Schmeckpeper, Gavin, Karter and Crew Rodney Tilson; his sisters, Sandy McDuffee (Butch) of Fremont, Sharon Miller (David) of Warsaw and Sheryl Schmeckpeper of Norfolk; his mother-in-law Helen Lopez of Valentine; and also, Greg Lopez of Shelton, Washington, Vince Lopez of Crookston, Anita Olson (Huey) of Canon City, Kristi O'Meara (Bob) of Lexington, Julie Judy (Troy) of Ashland and Trina Hucke (Brad) of Hastings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the building fund at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.
