He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Mather and Rose Mather (Friese); his son Terry Wayne; and his siblings, Charles "Bud" Mather, Lyle Mather, Geraldine "Gerry" Eckert and Shirley Whipple.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Knapp (Alan) of Niobrara, Nebraska and Michael Mather of Norfolk, Nebraska; his daughter-in-law Brenda Mather of Meadow Grove, Nebraska; his grandchildren, April Knust (Gail) of Neligh, Angie Schmitt (BJ) of Sioux Falls, Ashlee Funk (Mark) of Columbus, Nebraska and Aaron Trube of Omaha; and his sister Jill Pochop of Fremont, Nebraska. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk.
