He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Brandl and Mary Brandl (Frauendorfer); his wife Geraldine Cerny; his siblings, Lawrence, Ervin, Victor, Viola Weiser and Leona Zuerlein; and his great grandchild Corbin Nahrstedt.

He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Bonner (Ken), Linda Hall, Karan Wolken (Gary) and Richard Brandl (Marita); and his sisters, Darlene Becker of Norfolk and Norma Jane Werner of Minneapolis, Minnesota.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
