He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Apfel and Marguerite Apfel (Boschult); his daughter Shelli Roberts; his son-in-law Marvin Roberts; his grandchildren, Marvin Roberts, Jr. and Amanda Shantel Burella; and his siblings, Shirley, Allen, Donald and Gary.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his sons, Steve Apfel (Stephanie) of Holly Springs, NC and Darren Apfel (Bonnie) of Norfolk; and his grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Joshua, Audrey, Scott, Darien, Justine and Brooke. He is also survived by sixteen great- grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Home For Funerals Chapel (708 Georgia Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (605 S 5th St, Norfolk, NE 68701).
