He is survived by: his wife Beverly Sperry; his son Bruce Bippes of Norfolk; and his sisters, Huldah Lunzman of Auburn, Nebraska and June Taylor of Auburn, Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“Dear Beverly, Bruce and Family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jerry. He was such a great principal in Madison. He was always willing to do whatever was needed. I remember him setting up the chairs at assemblies when others would just let the custodian do it all. When we had parent teacher conferences, he was the first to arrive and the last to leave the building. My kids remember him as their favorite principal. I will always remember him fondly.
