He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Gaskell and Helen Gaskell (Porter); and his siblings, William, H. Roger, Roland Gaskell, Carole Long and Linda Sousa.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Tammy Bateman; his stepgrandson John Bateman Jr.; his siblings, Ronald, Robert Gaskell, Suzanne DeGeorge and Diana Carter; his sister-in-law Debbie Gaskell; and his niece Annette Cremers. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
