He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Knebel and Elna Knebel (Sasse); his wife JoAnn Donaldson; his great grandchild Emma Jo Olsen; his brother William Knebel; and his siblings-in-law, Patty Knebel, James Donaldson and Wilma Taddicken.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen Knebel and Nancy Monk (Kent) of Omaha; his grandchildren, Joshua, Abby and Beth; and his great grandchild Tyler.
