Cavazos, TX, Adeline Straatmeyer of Austin, TX, Elaura Lust (Joe) of Sioux Falls, SD, Harm Straatmeyer of Rapid City, SD, Charissa Avery (Justin) of Center, NE, Clayton Hanzlik of Madison, SD, Cathryn Hanzlik of Phoenix, AZ, Carrie Hanzlik of Yankton, SD and Chloe Hanzlik of Niobrara, NE; his great grandchildren, Braison, Lilian Buseman of Nampa, ID, Alexis Ford of Quinlin, TX, Alexia, Aiden Klinkhammer of Sioux Falls, Skyler, Arthur, Leif Bussey of Ft. Cavazos, TX, Jason Avery of Center, NE and Kyla Wright of Sioux Falls, SD; and his siblings, Glen Straatmeyer (Caren) of Sioux Falls, Geneva Medema (Clarence) of Lennox, SD and Engeline Carnes (Cortland) of Beresford.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brockhaus Funeral Home - Niobrara (253 Apple St, Niobrara, NE 68760). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Niobrara Presbyterian Church (2535 Apple St, Niobrara, NE 68760).

Ben's mind was as sharp as ever even up until the end, but Parkinson's slowly but surely won the battle over his body.
