He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Gilg and Norma Gilg (Fox); his sister Barbara Kaup (Donald); his parents-in-law, Oliver and Ena Wolcott; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Lou Coble (Keith) of Charlene Young, Jim Wolcott (Sally), Wally Wolcott (Elvira) and William Wolcott (Jo).
He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Joseph Gilg (Cheryl) of Urbandale, IA, William Gilg (Sharon) of Central City, Patricia Holmberg (Troy) of Leigh and Susan Whited (Kevin) of Columbus; his brother-in-law Rex Young of Lakewood, CO; and his grandchildren, Katharine, Brian Gilg, Andrew, Matthew Gilg, Alicia, Kyle Holmberg, Alexander, William and Amelia Whited. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
