He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick A. Koehler and Ruth Elaine Koehler (Graham); his brother Brian Koehler; and his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Mildred Kittelson.
He is survived by: his wife Kaye Koehler of Newman Grove, NE; his children, Bret Koehler (Jasmine) of Los Angeles, CA and Nicole Spann (Bryce) of Albion, NE; his grandchildren, Julia Spann of Lincoln, NE, Jude and Ruby Spann of Albion, NE; his pet Eddie; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Koehler of West Point, NE, Janis Hamman (Bob) of Salina, KS, Clare Hamman (Rick) of Kansas City, MO and Bob Kittelson (Pam) of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to family for later designation, or Trinity Lutheran Church, Newman Grove, NE.
