He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Benson and Isabel Benson (Thompson); his daughter Pamela Mowinkel; his sister Diann Fowlkes; and his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Zinsmaster and K. Rodney Berg.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Dean and Robin; his wife Beverly Benson of Newman Grove, NE; his son-in-law Dan Mowinkel (family: Danielle Amen) of Scribner, NE; his grandchildren-in-law, Skylar, Ryker and Derek Mowinkel (Taylor); his children, Dean Benson (Mary Jo, family: Brooke, Blake Benson) of O'Neill, NE, Barry Benson (Jennifer, family: Brady, Emma, Grace) of Fremont, NE and Robin Alexander (Trenton, family: Tegan, Kenley, Ashlyn Alexander) of Verdon, NE; his siblings-in-law, Dick Fowlkes, Bob Berg (Nancy) and Darla Berg; and also, Kane and Kooper.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Newman Grove Fire & Rescue, or the Newman Grove Community Foundation.
