He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard McDaniel and Blanche McDaniel; his brother-in-law Lloyd McDaniel; his siblings, Clara Helmer-Danielson, Danny Helmer and Terry Helmer; and his nephew Johnny Helmer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicki Cotton (Gary) of Morrill and Cheri Helmer-Reinsche (Roger) of Omaha; his grandchildren, Michelle Cotton Harriger, Troy Eisenhauer of West Point, Nicole Cotton Talavat (Chris) of Kearney and Bob Cotton (Clay Obrigewitch) of Merri Island; his siblings-in-law, Lon McDaniel (Audrey) of Alamogordo, Mayra Helmer of Fairbanks and Helen McDaniel of Denver; and also Larry McDaniel (Gwen) of Titusville.
